On Monday, the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya unfolded with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance, drawing thousands of special guests from across the country, including veteran actor Rajinikanth. Upon his return to Chennai on Tuesday, he engaged with reporters at the airport, emphasizing that the event was a ‘spiritual’ rather than a political one.
Rajinikanth, accompanied by his family, shared that he was among the first 150 individuals to witness the historic unveiling of the Ram Lalla idol. Expressing his joy in Tamil, he stated, “I had a great darshan. After the Ram temple was opened, I was among the first 150 people to witness [the Ram Lalla idol], and it gave me immense happiness… For me, this is spirituality and not politics. Everyone can have different opinions, and it doesn’t have to match every time.”
Addressing a video circulating on social media regarding his alleged seating issue at the event, Rajinikanth dismissed it, saying, “There is nothing like that.” Earlier, in Ayodhya, he had conveyed to reporters, “It was a historic event and I am very fortunate. Will definitely come to Ayodhya every year.”
